莫特曼簡介

[生平] —摘錄自林鴻信.2002.莫特曼神學.台北 : 禮記.
1926            出生於德國漢堡一個非基督教。
1939~1956  第二世界大戰。
1943   被徵召入伍，18歲參加空軍地勤部隊。
1944   德國戰敗，成為戰俘3年(當兵1年,被關3年，從比利時、蘇格蘭轉送至英格蘭，在這3年當中成為基督徒) 。
1946                 本來被關在蘇格蘭，經過申請轉調到英格蘭諾丁漢附近的諾敦戰俘營(Norton Camp)，
                    隔年開始學習神學，直到被遣送回國，莫特曼自稱此地是他第一次接受神學教育之處。
1948            返國後在哥廷根大學讀神學。
1952            莫特曼26歳得博士學位，並且與同門的伊莉莎白(Elisabeth Moltmann-Wendel)結         婚，擔任農村教會牧師。
1957            完成講師升等論文，取得大學教書資格。
1958~1963  在悟普塔神學院(Wupertal Kirchliche Hochschule)擔任歷史學教席。
1963                        在波昂大學(Bonn)任教系統神學(包括倫理學)。
1964                        出版《盼望神學》。
1967            前往杜賓根大學任教系統神學。
1965                        出版《被釘十字架的上帝》。
1966                        出版《聖靈大能下的教會》。
1967                        出版《三一上帝與上帝國》。
1984                        首度來台，莫特曼訪問台南神學院與台灣神學院,發表演講。
1985                        出版《創造中的上帝》(創造論、聖靈論)。
1986                        前往中國旅遊，在南京金陵神學院發表演講。
1989                    出版《耶穌基督的道路》(基督論)。
1991            出版《生命的靈》(聖靈論)。
1992            二度來台，擔任台神馬偕講座講員，演講內容結集成《耶穌基督—我們的兄弟，世界的救主》。
1994           從杜賓根大學退休。
1995           出版《上帝的來臨》(終末論)。
1997           出版《俗世中的上帝》。
1999           出版《神學思考經驗—基督教神學的方法與形式》。
2002           應中原大學邀請，三度來台。
2003           以77高齡應中國清華大學邀請,前往講學。
2005           四度來台，在台灣神學院發表演講。
